Chinook Helicopter Availability Improvement

Project Description

 

Aspire Consulting are providing a comprehensive range of support services to the UK MoD Chinook fleet managers to assist in availability improvements.  Working on behalf of Aspire, tasking in support of this work has consisted of:

  • Investigation, design and scoping of an analytical solution to rationalise flight servicing and high frequency Out-of-Phase (OOP) Preventive Maintenance tasks.
  • Audit of the team carrying out a Continuous Improvement Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Review of the in-service Chinook helicopter fleet.
  • Investigation, design and scoping of a ranging and scaling solution to provide the required information for production of a new Topic 3C (Scale of Aircraft Support Equipment).
  • Production of a Topic 5 and RCM strategy paper for future management of the Chinook fleet Preventive Maintenance schedules.  This included a tailored strategy for new aircraft procurement including an Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Statement of Work (SOW) and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL).
  • Investigation and scope of a technical authoring solution for update of Topic 2R1 (General Orders and Special Instructions).

Hawk Aircraft RCM Scoping Study

Project Description

The purpose of this RCM scoping study was to:

  • Investigate, determine and recommend the most appropriate RCM solution and programme that would:
    • Address any changes to the Hawk Operating Context (i.e. any role changes).
    • Contribute to the safe and efficient future operation of the Hawk aircraft.
    • Ensure the content of the Hawk Master Maintenance List (MML) complies with all known and relevant MoD maintenance policies.
    • Alleviate / reduce any cost and availability risk associated with the aircraft being extended in-service.
